The Passion of Stan Goldstein for Poker
The life of Stan Goldstein as a professional poker player may be similar to the lives of other professional poker players. He learned how to play poker at a young age and although it is not confirmed, he also probably lied about his age during his teenage years in order to enter the premises of casinos and other gambling establishments.
When he was still young, Stan Goldstein was already fond of betting on any kind of sport, such as jai alai, dog racing, cockfights, boxing, and horse racing. This is the reason why placing bets came so easy for him when he finally ventured into playing the game of poker.
It was during the high school days of Stan Goldstein that he began to play poker. In most cases, he would play such poker games as the lowball game and the five-card draw game. Stan Goldstein learned to be aggressive in playing poker and eventually became more and more aggressive. But instead of continuing to play with such attitude, this professional poker player decided to change his playing style to a more tamed approach. Besides, this professional poker player believes that poker players who play with an overly aggressive strategy only have a short life span. Well, Stan Goldstein obviously wants to play poker for a very long time.
A resident of North Fontana, California, despite his many successes in the world of poker since his teenage years, Stan Goldstein was first recognized when he participated in the United States Poker Championship on November 30, 2000 wherein he placed first and took home the cash prize of US$31,800. The event that this professional poker player participated in was the Limit 7 Card Stud event.
His next victory was on February 20, 2001 when Stan Goldstein joined the Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo event conducted during the 2001 Los Angeles Poker Classic tournament. He of course finished first in the said event, taking home the cash prize of US$44,800.
2001 seemed to be a good year for Stan Goldstein because it was during this year that he placed first in several poker events. On June 14, 2001, he placed first at the No Limit Hold'em event conducted at the California State Championship. On August 5, this professional poker player joined the Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo event of the Legends of Poker and placed first too. The Legends of Poker conducted another tournament on August 12 wherein this professional poker player participated in another Limit 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo event. Luckily, he once again placed first, taking home US$26,000. On August 20, he once again joined the Legends of Poker tournament, participating in the Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event, placing first once again, and winning a sum of US$26,800.
Such victories are of course only some of the achievements of Stan Goldstein in the poker industry. He has been participating successfully in other poker tournaments such as the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker.
